Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship Tees Off August 25-29

Three thousand golfers from around the world will compete for the world champion title August 25 – 29 in Myrtle Beach – “The Golf Capital of the World.”

Registration opened in April for the 2025 Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship, the world’s largest amateur golf tournament. This year, the field is capped to the first 3,000 players to register and sold out. Golfers can check out the web site at www.myrtlebeachworldamateur.com.

Entering its 42nd year, The World Amateur combines world-class tournament operations and administration along with the magic of a Myrtle Beach golf experience to create a unique, competitive event that all golf enthusiasts—regardless of age, skill level or hometown—eagerly anticipate each year. The 2025 Championship is scheduled for August 25-29 and will be played at more than 50 award-winning courses on the Grand Strand including Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, Tidewater, Barefoot Resort, TPC Myrtle Beach and more.

Participants choose among Net, Gross and Just for Fun Divisions. Early registration cost $649 per player and includes four rounds of golf at a different course each day, nightly access and a guest pass to the World’s Largest 19th Hole,” a commemorative gift bag, and the opportunity to earn a spot in the Championship Playoff.
