After relocating to the greater Houston area, longtime journalist and educator Patricia Baldwin has focused on freelance assignments. She has been a member of the Golf Writers Association of America since 1994.
Her work took a detour as she recently completed editing a memoir for a former federal prosecutor about his days digging deep into Mafia activity.
She served for a decade as editor-in-chief of Private Clubs, an award-winning bimonthly lifestyle magazine published by the formerly named Dallas-based ClubCorp. She served as editor-in-chief of Golf for Women magazine and, for seven years, wrote a weekly column about women’s golf for the KRT news service. She is a founder of Women in the Golf Industry organization.
Her early career experience included work at two business journals and two metropolitan daily newspapers. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas. She has taught university journalism as well as nonfiction writing classes at non-profit organizations, including Travel Writing at Writespace in Houston.
Her travel articles have appeared in a variety of member newspapers of the KRT wire service. Her freelance work also has appeared in Invited Magazine, Golfweek and various community newspapers.
