Alabama Golf News

Dan Vukelich is a freelance journalist who writes about travel, with a specialty in golf travel. He is online editor of Alabama Golf News, a site for Alabama golfers.

Dan recently has written for the the Golf Travel Wire, Chicago District Golf Association magazine, Golf Chicago, Golf Oklahoma, First Call Golf, Morning Read, Pro Golf Weekly, NewEngland.golf and the NGCOA newsletter.

He has previously written for The Met (NYC) Golfer, the Chicago Tribune Sunday Travel Section, the Chicago-Sun-Times Sunday Travel Section, Sun Country Golf (N.M.) magazine, AZ Golf Insider, Southern New England Golfer, the Ventura County (Los Angeles) Star, Golf Getaways Magazine (formerly Fairways + Greens), New England Golf Monthly, and Hawaii Golf and Travel News.

Dan spent a career as a reporter and editor for multiple news outlets, including ABQ (N.M.) Free Press, The Albuquerque Tribune, The Washington Times, City News Bureau of Chicago, Santa Fe New Mexican, Daily Southtown (Chicago) Economist and several Chicago-area community newspapers.

He also produced “New Mexico Golf Tour,” a travelogue broadcast in 19 PBS TV markets in the early 2000s. He was a long-time host of political affairs shows on New Mexico PBS. He also edits New Mexico Golf News, a sguide for New Mexico golfers.

Dan is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America and the Society of Professional Journalists, and he has served on the boards of several New Mexico journalism organizations. He is a winner of an Investigative Reporters and Editors award.
