MacKay, Leigh and VickyLeigh and Vicky  MacKay have been a golf journalism team for more than a decade, directing their efforts toward the avid golfers in the Northeast.

Leigh is a freelance golf writer and Vicky is a professional photographer and media specialist. They are frequent contributors to New England Golf Monthly, Northeast Golf, the Golf Content Network, and NewEngland.Golf.

They concentrate on golf travel/destination stories, equipment reviews, and golf personality features.

After a BA from Amherst College and an MALS from Dartmouth College, Leigh spent 36 years as an English teacher and golf coach, 26 of them at The Westminster Schools, an independent academy in Atlanta. In 1986, he took a sabbatical from teaching to become an editor for Golf World, witnessing life inside the ropes under the tutelage of legendary golf journalists Dick Taylor, Ron Coffman, and Bill Fields.

Leigh used this introduction to join the golf writers’ fraternity upon his retirement from academics in May 2007. He is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America and the International Network of Golf.

With a background in the Humanities and Fine Arts from Smith College, Vicky’s career was as an art, photography, and media specialist at Georgia’s The Westminster Schools and Athens Academy. She provides the images, artwork, and layout ideas for their golf stories. Vicky is a member of the International Network of Golf.

Leigh and Vicky are low-handicap golfers. They split their time between Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Plymouth, Mass. They are members of the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie and Southers Marsh Golf Club in Plymouth.
