Bill Huffman is a veteran golf writer whose course profiles for the Arizona Republic grace the walls of easily half the courses across the Phoenix Metro area.

Bill is one of the hosts of “Backspin, the Golf Show,” (Xtra Sports, AM 910) the preeminent golf radio show in the Valley of the Sun. He joined the show in 1999, the same year he wrote the book “Arizona’s Greatest Golf Courses.” He covered golf for the Arizona Republic for 15 years, and for the East Valley Tribune for another 10 years.

Bill edits AZ Golf Insider, the official magazine of the Arizona Golf Association, which profiles in-state and out-of-state golf-travel destinations and resorts of interest to Arizona golfers.

His blog appears regularly www.azgolf.org, www.backspinthegolfshow.com and www.arizonagolfauthority.com.

Bill also has written for the San Antonio Express-News, Des Moines Register and numerous travel and golf publications. He served as national president of the Associated Press Sports Editors Association and on the executive committee of the Golf Writers Association of America.

Bill is the media liaison for the Media Golf Classic in Mesquite, Nev. He previously performed that role for the Scottsdale Media Golf Classic, which for six years served as the annual winter meeting of the Golf Travel Writers of America.
