John Denver got it right when he sang, “Almost Heaven, West Virginia….” As an avid golfer he might have added, “Take me home, Country Roads, take me home, to the courses, I belong…”

Although West Virginia’s golf courses are not marketed as a “trail,” making your own golf itinerary is easy. If anything sets the tone for a golf trip in southeastern and central West Virginia it is the spectacular Allegheny Mountains, hills, forests and raging rivers that stretch over the landscape.  More
